If you like a non-frills atmosphere, the Ale House is the place to go for good food and no long waits. For a different taste, try the Superbird. Its a taste that will make you come back for more. The Ale House's stromboli is the best in the area. My personal favorite is the roast beef aujus, extra cheese and a side of horseradish. If you want to get out, enjoy some conversation, and have a drink, this is the place.

Food is decent. No non-smoking section is available for families with children. Help/management/owners are often surly and unpleasant.

Family was in for dinner, food was top rate(shrimp carbonara). Service was prompt and helpful. Great time for family, after ten, great time for adults on and live bands.

Walked in that night, and thought they were under construction. I was going to leave until the waitress was so friendly, I decided to stay. Had steak and lobster, then had a good time watching the band, thank you ale house for the great night.

Hey, quit fooling. This is a bar that happens to serve food. Can't think of why any family or non-smoker would want to eat there.

Food is good but management is less than pleasant. No attempt is made to give you the impression that your business matters to them. Waitresses are generally good but bar staff tends to make you wait for no apparent reason. Dining area and bathrooms (which have no-smoking signs) are very smoky. If you're a non-smoker or taking children, go early and avoid the crowd/smoke. Hamburgers are very good but charging $.25 each for tomato, onion and lettuce is price gauging.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by this unassuming little place. A special of a dozen hot wings for 2.75(!) brought some of the tastiest wings (and largest too) I've had this year. They were righteously hot with no apologies. The waitress was quite pleasant also. As far as smoking goes, they have what appears to be the super heavy duty industrial model smokeater, its as big as my car. I heartily recommend the Ale House for casual dining in Mechanicsburg.

Great food and atmosphere. Service is kinda bad on a busy Friday or Saturday night and don't try to go there if you are under 21. My self and a couple of friends tried to eat there in the late afternoon when there was a couple other tables and they would not serve us FOOD b/c we were under 21.

My husband and I go to Ale House for wings a couple times a month. The best wings in town! They have a patio outside that is open in the summer if you don't like secondhand smoke.....we are both non-smokers and the smoke does not bother us.... Waitstaff have always been very friendly and efficient. It is a no frills restaurant with good, inexpensive food. If you don't like a barlike feel, don't go....but you will be missing out on great wings!

Great food. Great service (I sat at the bar and had no trouble being waited on). A little pricey. Fun atmosphere...did you know the bartenders have a 6 Foot flyswatter behind the bar that they use to hit customers with?!!! A must try for food and fun.

No more smoking, they also redesigned the place -- good for families and friends alike. Food ranges from excellent to ok depending on what you get and the wait staff, well still a bit like the wait staff in a boston pub.
